You are All invited to apply for a Frito Lay Arts Scholarship sponsored by the United Negro College Fund for the 2018-2020 academic year. These scholarships are providing for pursuing the undergraduate degree in the USA C.E. Doolin was an early franchiser and soon began distributing Fritos nationwide. One photo shows a “Frito Fleet” rolling through the streets of San Antonio, accompanied by a local marching band.

Doolin’s wife, Katherine, was known for her social work and good relationships with the workers at the company. It was a strong, family feeling that made Fritos a legendary Texas business. Mrs. Doolin developed all kinds of recipes using Fritos, including Frito pie and Frito jets (Fritos dipped in chocolate and laid out on a cookie sheet — “fat on top of fat,” Kaleta Doolin says). These recipes were printed on the backs of Fritos packages.

The aim of this scholarship to provide better knowledge, improve their skills and to support in the financial area.

UNCF is the nation’s largest and most effective minority education organization.

The United Negro College Fund, or UNCF, is an American philanthropic organization that funds scholarships for black students and general scholarship funds for 39 private historically black colleges and universities.


Scholarship is available to pursue Undergraduate Programme major in Arts

The Frito Lays Arts Scholarship program will provide awards ranging from $1000 up to $5,000 per eligible student majoring in the arts for the 2016-17 academic year.


The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • Minimum of a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Attend a 4-year accredited college or university in the United States
  • Major in Performing or Visual Arts related field
  • Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
  • Be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. national or permanent resident.
  • Nationality: U.S. Citizen or permanent resident are eligible to apply.

Entrance Requirement: Students must have their previous degree.
