A bid to defuse the widespread perceived crisis in All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State  South, Comrade Austin Agada, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Benue State, led a delegation of Party (APC) Local government Chairmen and other Party faithfuls, that cut across Benue South, to meet with the Honourable Minister of Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbeh.

Chief Ogbeh, who also received the delegation in his usual diplomatic mien, thanked and welcomed his guests, for finding time for the visit. As usual, the Idoma starets patiently listened to speaker after speakers, as they took turn to address issues of the Zone and that of the Party (APC)

The elder Statesman, later chronicled his over 39 years experience in Politics and opined that, the problem in Benue South, is not who is in power but poverty. According to Ogbeh, when one takes a statistics of those doing menial jobs in Abuja, they are people from Benue South, because, there is poverty in our land, there is no factory, no industry, nor a virile economic venture. “We use to have a very rich people in Benue South but this has not translated into the creation of wealth with spill over effects in the Zone.

The people mentor (Ogbeh) further expressed his dissatisfaction over the alien culture prevailing in Idoma land, but advised that, the APC State Chairman should adopt diplomacy in steering the affairs of the Party at the State level. He also shared his experience as a National Party Chairman, and how integrity, and courage to take decisive right decisions, even at the face of turning down mind blowing offers, has greatly illuminated his credentials and has earned him good name, which is far better than anything money can give him.

The Honourable Minister further sue for peace. In his words, ” there is every need for us to have peace at home”. The Party should endeavour to accommodate everyone without bias, so as to cut cost during campaigns in Benue South, while the Zoning arrangement should be exploited to ensure fairness, equity and a sense of belonging, “let save money for the growth and development of the zone, rather waste huge money in campaigns.

The Benue South leader, later informed the delegation of the renovation of Otukpo General Hospital he initiated, the sinking of four boreholes in Otukpo, that rig down to 1000 metres due to the perennial water problem, the construction of a Rice mill that has the capacity of milling over 1000 tone per day and in the next weeks, other projects will follow suit and he will continue to do his best pending when he will leave office.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Comrade Agada briefed Ogbeh, the rational that precipitated the visit, that if unattended to, will degenerate and the entire Benue South will be at the receiving end. According to Agada, the essence of the envoys, is encapsulated in two strands; first, we had come to Thank God and celebrate with him (Ogbeh) for the successful return of President Muhammad Buhari, after 103 days medical vacation in
London and also to appreciate God for His grace on him (Ogbeh), who has distinguished himself by making the entire Benue South proud as the best performing Minister.

Secondly, is the perceived APC crisis in Benue South, in which the opposition in the State has been exploiting the misgivings and spreading propaganda and falsehood. According to Agada, some mischief makers within the APC fold has bent in fomenting rancour among members, so as to destabilize the party before jetting out. This to Agada’s opinion will blow no man good in Benue South, and this is the time, his (Ogbeh) son (Abah Yaro) needs his wise counsel, and that Ogbadibo which other part of Benue South look unto, should not been seen rocking the “boat”, that would have sail the zone from her unfortunate preventable quagmire.

Other speakers after speaker that spoke, collaborated Agada view with emphasis for the Minister’s intervention is high time we fix the problem affecting us.
